Governance

The NSCO is governed by a Board of seven members. Five of the members are volunteer Optometrists elected for three year terms by registered optometrists. Two public members are non-optometrists appointed by the provincial Governor in Council.
The Boards elects annually the following persons:

Chair
Vice-chair
Treasurer
Registrar

The Board also appoints a Complaints Committee and a Hearing Committee to deal with complaints from the public.
